I have realized that in putting together this event I have to be relentlessly resourceful. I can not do this alone without the support of the community, the artists, and the sponsoring businesses. It has been such a pleasure to meet with so many people who are in alignment with this initiative and who want to add to the culture of Burlington by supporting No Vacancy. I get really excited when I meet people who are on board.
I am wearing many hats to put this organization together, but I am so passionate about the cause that I don't mind spending so much time on it. Burlington is in desperate need of a more thriving arts scene and I will do anything and everything I can to make it happen.
The past few weeks have been nothing but meetings trying to rally support around No Vacancy, build the advisory board and get people excited about bringing contemporary art to Burlington. The one good thing is that everyone synonymously agrees that this is EXACTLY what Burlington needs. That is very encouraging to hear and makes all of the hard work worthwhile.
